Man, I’m So Hungry I Could Eat a Horse!

When I was a much younger man, I answered the call of God upon my life. That call was to be a man of God. I wanted to live my life directed by Him in every way. Though I knew I had a ministry gifting, my heart was to follow His Spirit daily with every decision regardless of the path that would be my life’s journey, whether it was business or ministry.

Immediately, an intense hunger arose within me. I completely gave myself over to following where it took me. Being a person who loves adventure, I dared asking, seeking and knocking that seemed to be a bit off the beaten path of most that I knew. I was hungry and a hungry man cannot be satisfied until that hunger is met! He fed me the best!

My greatest passion was “that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection”.It burns within me even today. That passion took me on a journey to learn and to grow beyond my peers and beyond my years. I learned the crucial things that I needed for my immediate freedom by simply heeding. I grew immensely as Holy Spirit guided me to go beyond the normally acceptable limitations. I learned by being led.

As “deep called out” I answered. For twenty-eight years I’ve followed that passion with every breath within me. My heart beats with a desire to know Him in every way possible. I’m not where I’m at in my maturity or the grace that I carry because of age or calling. It’s because I’ve endeavored to cultivate my focus that came out of a consecrated Christ centered lifestyle.

“The beginning of wisdom is this: Get wisdom, and whatever you get, get insight.”  Proverbs 4:7

I wanted to know His voice and presence. I’ve not been disappointed. For all that He has done in me, though it is deep, is just the beginning of where I want to be. The energy and focus that I live by is the “horse sense” that He has guided me with to build my life. I have insight. It enables me to follow the path He has given me regardless of the difficulties or questions. I’m on a quest for spiritual reality.

“The spirit of man is the lamp of the LORD, searching all his innermost parts.” Proverbs 20:27

Let Holy Spirit guide you. Follow the passionate hunger He places within you. He is the Light that will guide your way. Go ahead. Be curious. It’s okay. He’s your Guide. There’s nothing to fear.
